Launching a New Season

Good morning my sweet Alegria prayer partner friends! Happy Sunday! It's my absolute favorite day of the week and I hope it is yours too. I hope and pray you have worship and rest and maybe even some family time on your agenda for today.

This week is an exciting one in the US and in Honduras. First, in the US, our summer collection is loaded into our website and ready for us to turn on for wholesale customers today, our Joy Box Subscribers and Joy Club members tomorrow, and to everyone on Thursday. New jewelry brings an influx of orders and we are ready for it. There are several bills that need to be paid, and this week is also payday in Honduras (which makes it a pretty exciting week there).

It's a very straightforward time of prayer today:

    1. Praise God we have made it this far into 2026 with wages paid for our artisans.
    2. Praise the Lord for our Joy Box subscribers - without their faithful subscriptions to our Joy Box, we would not have been able to keep wages paid. (If you are a subscriber, thank you!)
    3. Pray that the Lord would bring all of our Joy Creators to our website this week with the new launch, and that they would find exciting new pieces to purchase for their summer outfits and gifts. Pray that our posts and emails and ads would reach the right people and that they would be inspired to purchase.
    4. Pray that God would bless our Joy Partner stores with empty Alegria displays that they will restock this week with our new summer line.

I know I ask you often to pray for sales. Is this Biblical to ask? The answer is yes! There is so much in scripture about planting and harvest. We are instructed to work hard, to plant, to work the ground, but then we are to pray. Pray that God will bring rain, pray that our harvest will be plentiful, pray that God sends workers to harvest. We are praying for all of these things for the 'fields' in Honduras, and for the 'harvest' in the US.

God loves work. It is His command to us. We aren't to sit along the streets and beg - which is something that women in Honduras are sometimes forced to do (and children, which is where Faith Home comes in, to take them off the streets and care for them). Alegria is a for-profit company for many reasons, but one is because we are working. We are creating a marketable, sellable product and fulfilling a need for accessorizing and gifting, and in exchange, we are paid for the goods, which pays salaries. This is a sustainable way to interrupt the cycles of poverty that lead to the orphan crisis in Honduras. Jobs stop human trafficking. And when a woman can provide for her family, so many things change.

So we work, but we also pray because Jesus said in Matthew 9:37 that we were to 'pray to the Lord who is in charge of the harvest.'  Thank you for praying with me today! (and happy shopping this week from our new summer collection we've worked hard to bring you.)
