His-Story

His-Story

We are so grateful for technology that allows us to have video chats, instant messaging and email back and forth with Honduras! (But part of me misses designing together around the table, chatting about kids, and music choices and my terrible Spanish.) Thank you Lord for technology!

I won't forget how this piece came about. I had brought a sample to Honduras of a leather wrap bracelet. We worked on the technique together and crafted a coconut bead version.  And then we tried other stones - all beautiful and great sellers. But then, Odalin asked me, could we make a bracelet that would tell people about Jesus? So we began to think. We pitched the idea to Josue at Gala bisuteria and he started thinking about a pattern for the beads and what materials to use.  We bought some strands and laid it out in the office on a bead tray until we got it the right length, and then we began weaving them together. The first ones took 1/2 a day each.  Almost 4 hours.  They are faster now, but still take many hours to make just 1.

As we celebrate Palm Sunday today, would you pray that these bracelets with their packaging with the gospel message would be used by the Lord to tell the story of His Son and the salvation gift available to us all so freely?  Oh, and not just the bracelets, but the necklaces, earrings and bangle bracelets too!
