Faithful Subscribers

Faithful Subscribers

Good Sunday morning Joy-Creators! I am so grateful for those that come here each week and pray with me for Alegria. My devotion this morning was about prayer being the ultimate submission to the Lord. Self-sufficiency can be the enemy of faith, but prayer reminds us where the power truly lies, who holds our futures in His hands, and where peace and joy come from. God is the Lord of the harvest.

Today I am praying specifically for the 9 people God is calling to subscribe to our Joy Boxes. I am praying that they will see the new October Joy Box and the beautiful, hardworking and talented artisans who designed it and hand crafted it, and they will be moved to step up to a greater commitment to these artisans and enjoy this exclusive piece or pieces each and every month (even if it is to gift some of it). We were moved to create 5 new boxes last month, and we followed that lead. And we had 2 subscribers with life changes that canceled their subscriptions. And so then we had 7 boxes to find new subscribers for. And then this month we've had again 2 subscribers with life changes that had to cancel their boxes. So we are needing 9 new subscribers.

As we look to our plans, we want to hire a new artisan before the end of the year, but we have to have these boxes subscribed to in order to make this leap with January and February looming.  You see, our Joy Box Subscribers are the funds that pay salaries in these very lean months. They keep our lights on while markets and trade shows are on pause, and help us make the savings stretch.

Maybe the Lord is prompting you today to step up and subscribe to a box. We work hard to make them varied so that you will have some you fall in love with and wear all the time, and some that are classic and go with everything, as well as pieces you may not love (but another subscriber does) and it can be used for a gift. Would you pray and take the leap today and subscibe?

If you are already a subscriber, would you pray for the 9 who will subscribe this month and bring us to this level where hiring another artisan is feasible? There are women who I have heard their stories, and they need a job. Women with families that they cannot feed or house safely. But this job will make it possible.  To us, it's the cost of our morning coffee run, or one less amazon haul, but to them, it's life change.

I believe God moves on behalf of these orphans and single moms (the widow in our culture) because He calls us to care for them, and when we do His calling, He blesses us with a part in His work.
