192 in the last 2 weeks

Dear Joy-Creators and Joy-Partners, I know I just talk numbers in the last few months of the year, but this is truly the reality of a product business.  Right now, we have to be squirrels - putting away for winter. This is the time that customers are making more and larger purchases than normal and Alegria is working hard to be one of those products going into gifts and stockings. Our Christmas campaign this year is One Gift Can Change a Life because truly when customers choose Alegria as a gift, their dollars funnel in huge proportions into salaries in Honduras for young women artisans who are working hard every day to earn a living for themselves and their families. No one in a big corporate office with a vacation home is cashing in on that purchase, just hard working women in the poorest country in Central America. It is a missional company and our bottom line is more than 65% salaries. We want to be transparent and we want you to know you are paying the artisan who crafted your piece a very fair living wage.

We are on track, and we should now be able to squirrel all of the rest of the orders from this Christmas season away to cover the deficits of the 1st quarter. Now we just need our Joy-Creators to finish their Christmas shopping with us. The number still needed is 192 average online orders.  There are over 2,000 people who get this prayer partner email every week and over 35% usually open it. That's 700 pairs of eyes looking at this blog. We need 1 of 3 of them to go to the website and place an order for 2 pieces.  It's a lot, but it's not everyone. But what if every person ordered? WOW! Or what if every person ordered and also shared Alegria with their small group, family, women's clubs, coworkers, social media followers, and every person that complimented their jewelry this week? Joy-Creators, we could hire one of the 4 women in Honduras asking Alegria for a job to support their families.  Do you see it? How one gift can change a life? But it's on all of us. We can't just read this and pray and walk away today. We have to then move with our debit/credit card and make that gift purchase. Today can't be a pray from the sidelines day, it needs to be a pray and then take action day. A woman's life is counting on it.
